It's not even May and my Padres are 10 games back.....poor Greg Maddux is never going to get his 350th win....

It's hard to believe, but the Astros are doing better than the Padres and almost as good as the Dodgers. And my other favorite team, the Cardinals, have
the highest winning percentage in the majors.
Still haven't watched a full game though. |

Hard as it is to believe....the Padres won tonight. Okay, they stranded 14 men but they won! Two different batters hit home runs and a third batter had 4 hits
in the game...it was far and away their best offensive performance. May has been their month in the past, we can only hope. (we only got to watch the last 2
innings on this one....Mom In Law had her hip replaced today so we were busy)

I'm trying to remember when this last happened.......the Padres won! It's been something like forever...tonight was the 5th time Greg Maddux tried to
get his 350th win...well, 5th time was the charm.
More, the Pads stole 4 bases! I think that exceeds the number of stolen bases for the rest of the seasion. |

I can't tell which Dodger team is showing up, the one that won 7 in a row or the one that lost 5 in a row. Every game a surprise...

Well....your Dodgers are down here tonight putting a little kid up against our old man. I'm wondering if he'll be watching Maddux on the mound thinking
"geeze....that guy's older than my Dad!".
**************** edit comment: well, the kid did fine...the old man did fine...but our coaching staff just sucked...I can't blame the bull pen because they pulled a pitcher who hadn't given anything up "just because".... Dang...I'd hoped we would gain some ground here.

wooohooo! I'm sorry that beating the silly Dodgers is cause for celebration, but it is...plus, my baby, Khalil Greene (I have a jersey with his name and
number!) got a home run and a double...his best performance in forever...or, at least, this season...I'm so happy for him.

They are just baaaaddddd. The NL west is now the worst division around. We're all rooting around in the sub-.500s. lame, lame LAME!!!!!!

Yeah....isn't this just the division no one wants to win? I'll be so happy when this interleague crap goes away and we can go back to playing each
other. At least then, we stand a chance of occassionally winning.

The dodgers are finally over .500. Not so impressive but we must be happy for small things. ManRam is looking good so far.

Hey, you're team will likely win the division. Meanwhile....I'd be pretty happy with "not in the cellar" for the Pads.....but, I doubt it
will happen for me.

DODGERS CLINCH DIVISION!!!!!! | #33 | ||

Yeah, I never wavered. So it was because someone else lost. The final scoreboard is what counts!!! Now the Pads can watch us celebrate after tonights game!
Go Maddox! ec, you gotta love those cubbies. |

Ah, yes. The Cubbies. They are doing very good and it just may be their year. Still haven't watched a full game this year but I did see the end of the Cubs
win over the Mets last night. Got home very late so only saw the last three innings.
In other news, even though the Dodgers have clinched their division, it does make me feel good that the Astros (13 games behind in the Central) have a higher winning percentage. |

Astros v Dodgers | #35 | ||

Yes, lots of teams have better winning percentages. But they ain't in the NL West. Baseball, just like real estate, is all about location, location,
location.

Congrats to the Dodgers on their win last night, and they are starting out well again this evening. Too tired to stay up and watch the game though, but I have
to say this before I go to bed.
!Go Cubbies! |

The playoffs continue to point out that the 162 game season is probably unnecessary. When a team that barely had a winning season sweeps another which had the
best league record it proves the playoffs are a crap shoot. Whoever is hot at that time takes the prize, no matter how good (or bad) they were in the regular
season.
In any case, congratulations again to the Dodgers. You happy now, Kez? |

I believe it shows the power of Manny's dreadlocks!
I've officially ended my mourning now that the National League has won. The Dodgers had a great run this year. Next year they are sure to win it all!! |

So you're saying that you have adopted the old Cubs' motto of "There's always next year"?
